Sri Aurobindo
Asharam:
A spiritual community established at Pondicherry by Sri
Aurobindo Ashram on November twenty fourth 1926. The ashram has since become

Auroville:
Auroville is also one of the most popular places to visit in Pondicherry. With
its name that means ‘The town of Dawn’ may be a town set eight kilometers from
Pondicherry. It had been based in 1968 by Sri Aurobindo and Mira Alfassa and
was designed by the French creator Roger Anger. The thought was to make a
universal city wherever people from everywhere the planet would board harmony
and peace no matter caste, color, nationalities etc. Throughout the
inauguration soil from around 124 was placed in an exceedingly lotus formed urn
to symbolize the thought behind the institution of the town. The center of the
city is topped by a temple that symbolizes the universal mother and is named
‘Matrimandir’.
Immaculate Conception
Cathedral:
The Immaculate Conception Cathedral as we tend to see

designed before the French occupation of Pondicherry. The development started
